We repair the major appliances in Dallas homes: the kitchen appliances you use every day and the washer and dryer in the laundry room. All major brands, gas and electric.

Below is every appliance we work on and the problems we see most often on each one. If yours is doing something not on the list, call anyway. These are the common ones, not the only ones.

Kitchen Appliance Repair in Dallas

Kitchen appliances get the hardest use in the house, and a broken one throws off the whole routine. We carry the common parts for refrigerators, dishwashers and ranges on the van, so most kitchen repairs are finished in one visit.

Refrigerator Repair

Refrigerator repair is the call we get most, especially in the Dallas summer. Common problems: the fresh food side is warm while the freezer is fine, water pooling under the crisper drawers, a fan that buzzes or rattles, or a fridge that runs constantly. Usually it is a defrost heater, evaporator fan, start relay, thermostat or clogged drain line.

Freezer Repair

We fix upright and chest freezers as well as the freezer section of your refrigerator. Typical freezer repair jobs are heavy frost build-up, food that softens, a freezer that will not stay closed, or one that stopped running altogether. We test the defrost system, door gasket, condenser fan and compressor controls.

Ice Maker Repair

An ice maker that stops making ice, makes small hollow cubes, or leaks water into the freezer is almost always fixable. We check the water inlet valve, the fill tube for ice clogs, water pressure and the ice maker module itself, and we replace only the part that failed.

Dishwasher Repair

Dishwasher repair calls usually start with standing water in the bottom, dishes that come out dirty or gritty, a leak at the door, or a machine that will not start. We clean or replace drain pumps and filters, fix wash motors, door latches, float switches and inlet valves.

Oven Repair

For oven repair we work on freestanding ranges, wall ovens and double ovens. The usual complaints: the oven will not heat, takes forever to preheat, burns on the bottom, or reads far off from the set temperature. We replace bake and broil elements, igniters, temperature sensors and control boards.

Stove Repair

Stove repair covers gas and electric cooktops. A burner that clicks but will not light, a weak or yellow flame, a coil or glass-top element stuck on high or not heating at all. We repair spark igniters, burner valves, infinite switches and surface elements. If you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas company first.

Laundry Appliance Repair in Dallas

A washer or dryer that quits means piles of laundry fast. We repair front-load and top-load washers and both gas and electric dryers, including stacked units and laundry centers.

Washer Repair

Our washer repair work covers machines that will not drain, will not spin, leak on the floor, stop mid-cycle, or shake hard enough to walk across the room. On front-loaders we also deal with door locks that will not release and bad smells from a clogged pump filter or worn door boot.

The parts we replace most often are drain pumps, lid switches and door locks, drive belts, shock absorbers, suspension springs and bearings. If a repair would cost more than the washer is worth, we will tell you that straight.

Dryer Repair

Dryer repair calls are usually about a dryer that runs but stays cold, takes two or three cycles to dry a load, squeaks or thumps, or will not start at all. On gas dryers it is often an igniter or gas valve coil; on electric dryers, a heating element or thermal fuse.

A blown thermal fuse often means the vent is clogged with lint, so we check the airflow too. A blocked vent makes the dryer slow and is a fire risk, and replacing the fuse without fixing the vent just means another call later.

How a Repair Job Goes

Every job is a little different, but most follow the same steps from the first phone call to the finished repair.

  1. The phone call. You tell us the appliance, the brand and what it is doing. We ask a few questions and set a time, often the same day.
  2. Arrival. The technician arrives in the scheduled window, listens to what you have noticed and looks the appliance over.
  3. Diagnosis. We test the parts that could cause the problem and find the one that actually failed, instead of guessing and swapping parts.
  4. Explanation and price. We explain what failed, what your options are, and what each option costs. Nothing is done until you agree.
  5. The repair. Most repairs are done right there with parts from the van. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you when and schedule the return visit.
  6. Testing and summary. We run the appliance to make sure it works, clean up, and give you a clear summary of what was done.
